Illinois Coalition For Public Awareness

Currently, we are waiting word from the Illinois Supreme Court in response to our Petition for Leave to file an Appeal. The response will determine if we are able to appeal the decision of the Fourth Appellate Court to uphold the Circuit Court's dismissal based on the arbitrary application of Laches. Laches is a defense used when no Statute of Limitation applies and the argument is made that a litigant slept on their rights therefore prejudicing the other party.

     The Coalition For Public Awareness is a grassroots organization founded in 2003 as a direct result of the complete disregard for the taxpayers of Jersey County by the various taxing entities. The Coalition was formed through the cooperative efforts of residents from every walk of life in our community and is committed to preserving the quality of life that has made Jersey County such an appealing place to call home.
